Advanced Clinical Research (ACR®) Management

Werner Huck - Founder & CEO

Mr. Werner Huck, originally from Frankfurt, Germany, founded ACR in 1984 and has led ACR's successful contributions in the development of over 100 compounds in over 600 clinical trials since inception. Mr. Huck has expertise in outpatient anti-infective therapeutic and diagnostic development, with emphasis on community-acquired pneumonia and sinusitis. He has over 30 years experience and has authored/co-authored numerous publications in medical journals. He is a graduate of the University of Utah, degreed and board certified in clinical microbiology. Mr. Huck is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and the Association of Clinical Research Practitioners (ACRP).

Jesse Hoffman - President

Mr. Jesse Hoffman grew up in New York City and was drawn to Salt Lake City in 1999 by the beautiful Wasatch Mountains. Mr. Hoffman started at ACR in January of 2004 as the Director of Business Development. In the summer of 2006 Mr. Hoffman was promoted to President of ACR. Before joining ACR, Mr. Hoffman was a product design and product lifecycle management account executive servicing medical device and engineering clients in Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. Mr. Hoffman has a Bachelors of Science and Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and is a member of the Cornell Entrepreneurship Network. He is also an active member of Utah Medical Marketing Association.

Judith Kirstein, MD - Medical Director

Dr. Judith Kirstein grew up in Los Angeles, California, and since July 1981, she has been practicing medicine in West Jordan, Utah. Dr. Kirstein founded Jordan Valley Family Health in 1984, now one of the largest independent Family Practices in the Salt Lake Valley. She began her research career with ACR in 1992. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice, and a member of the Utah Medical Association, the Salt Lake County Medical Society and the AMA. Dr. Kirstein is board certified in family practice and is also associated with the clinical faculty of the University Of Utah College Of Medicine. Dr. Kirstein attended medical school at UCLA, where she holds a Masters degree in nursing, as well as a Doctor of Medicine degree.

Staci Gola, RN, CCRP - Operations Director

Ms. Staci Gola spent her childhood in Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida, moving to Salt Lake City with her family in 1980. Most recently, Ms. Gola has over nine years experience conducting clinical research trials in Utah, as well as an additional ten years of hospital based previous medical experience. Her experience in clinical trial management encompasses Phase IA through Phase IV: hospital, wisdom-tooth removal (dental), bunionectomy, vaccine, weight-loss, out-patient, diabetes, hypertension and PK trials, to name a few. Ms. Gola holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Salt Lake Community College. She is a member of The Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) and is a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) through that organization. She is also a licensed Registered Nurse.

Jean Hughes - Finance Director

Ms. Jean Hughes grew up in Northern Wyoming and has been in the Salt Lake Valley since 1989. She has been with Advanced Clinical Research since 2004. Ms. Hughes brings over 17 years of finance experience with over 8 years in the medical and nutraceutical industries. She also has a background in manufacturing and public accounting. She has extensive experience in Information Technology, Systems Analysis and implementation of financial applications. Ms. Hughes has a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from National College in Rapid City, South Dakota.
