Cold Sore Study (Herpes Labialis)
Cold sores (fever blister), also known as herpes labialis, are blister sores, which appear on the outside of the lip or mouth. Cold sores are extremely common. In fact, 90% of the United States population is infected with the cold sore virus by the time they are 50 years old (Statistics source: www.emedicinehealth.com).
Advanced Clinical Research (ACR) is seeking volunteers to participate in a clinical research study for an investigational cold sore topical treatment. Qualified participants will receive study related medication and examinations at no cost. Also, if qualified, volunteers will receive compensation for their time and travel.
In order to qualify, participants must:
Be 18-80 years old
Have a history of 3 or more symptomatic outbreaks per year
Be in good general health
In order to qualify, participants MUST NOT have:
Allergies to topical creams, ointments, or medication
Any severe acute illnesses, such as: Influenza, Eye Infection, Bronchitis, or Pneumonia
Participated in a clinical investigation where you received study medication within the last 30 days.
