Meningitis Vaccine Research Study
Advanced Clinical Research (ACR) is conducting a clinical research trial regarding a Meningitis Vaccine for people age 56 and older. This Illness is normally characterized by fever, intense headache, nausea, rash, and vomiting.
Over 500,000 cases of Meningococcal Disease occur worldwide per year, resulting in approximately 135,000 deaths. Despite appropriate treatment, the overall mortality rate for Meningitis has been reported to be 7-19%, approximately 10-20% of cases result in permanent disabilities such as limb loss, deafness, and seizures.
To qualify you must:
Be at least 56 years of age.
Be medically stable.
To qualify You Cannot:
Have any Serious Chronic Disease.
Have suffered a fever within the last 72 hours.
Be pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding.
Have received a previous Meningitis Vaccine.
Have received any other vaccine within the last 28 days.
