Shingles Vaccine Research Study

Shingles originates from the same virus that causes chickenpox. When someone develops chickenpox, that virus never goes away and remains dormant in the body's nerves. In people with weakened immune systems, that virus can reappear and does so in more than 500,000 Americans per year (www.webmd.com).

We are seeking healthy volunteers 60 years and older, who have not received any other vaccine within the last 4 weeks (excluding flu shots). Participants must have no history of allergic reactions to vaccine components and they cannot have received a previous shingles vaccine.

Patients who qualify for this study will receive study-related evaluations from certified medical professionals as well as compensation for their time and travel.
